Meningitis Vaccine Requirement
We would like to remind you of the TDAP vaccine requirement for all students entering 7th grade and also make you aware of a new regulation that will be in effect starting with the 2017-2018 school year.
The State of Iowa has put forth new requirements for all students enrolling in 7th and 12th grades to receive Meningococcal (Meningitis) vaccine.
The change requires a one-time dose of meningococcal vaccine received on or after 10 years of age for students in grades 7 and above, if born after September 15, 2004; and 2 does of meningococcal vaccnies for students in grade 12, if born after September 15, 1999; or 1 dose if received when the student is 16 years of age or older.
