New Location for Sharps Box

The sharps drop-off box has moved from its old location at the hospital to a new location at the parking lot of Union County Emergency Management on 705 E. Taylor Street in Creston.

The FDA recommends you place all needles and other sharps in a sharps disposal container immediately after they have been used. Then you can dispose of the sharps containers by putting them in the new drop box.

When your sharps disposal container is about three-quarters full, it is time to dispose of the container. Overfilling a sharps disposal container increases the risk of accidental needle-stick injury.
