Greater Regional Health offers state-of-the art labor, delivery and recovery rooms in our Greater Regional Birthing Center. Our obstetrics and gynecology team is passionate about bringing miracles into the world!
Our women's birth and wellness center offers four home like LDRP's (labor, delivery, recovery patient rooms). As a family birthing center, we encourage family time and bonding in the same room mom labors, delivers and recovers.
Our secure Birthing Center includes the latest equipment with highly trained staff and ob doctors. One of our specialized obstetrical care nurses will be ready to help you through delivery with care and support throughout and after your birthing experience.
In the event you need a cesarean section procedure, our Surgery Center is on-site and just around the corner for immediate needs.

Labor & Delivery Pain Management
The Greater Regional Birthing Center offers the most modern types of pain relief, from the most simple breathing and positioning techniques to offering epidurals by our specialized CRNA team.
Family Birthing Center Classes and Education
We offer individualized baby care and teaching. All of our obstetrics and gynecology nurses are specially trained in breast feeding care to ensure assist all babies get the best start possible. In addition, we have a certified lactation counselor on our care team.
Our obstetrical care team offers prenatal classes for those at least 32 weeks into their pregnancy. It's our own version of "Baby Boot Camp" which includes breastfeeding information from our Certified Lactation Counselors!
Also, if you have kids at home already, come attend our Sibling Class! The next class is May 3rd.
In an effort to better promote safety, security, prevent infection, and protect newborns, the Greater Regional Family Birthing Center welcomes friends and family to visit after newborn delivery.
Visiting hours in the Greater Regional Birthing Center are between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. In addition, visitors will be limited for the first two hours following a newborn's birth to allow the new mother and immediate family to begin the important bonding process.
Greater Regional requests all visitors be mindful of the importance of a quiet and calm environment in the Family Birthing Center. In addition, anyone who is not feeling well, has been exposed to a contagious disease, or is running a fever is requested to delay a visit to protect the health and well being of the new mom and baby.
Siblings are encouraged to visit their new sister or brother. To ensure the safety of children, they need to be supervised by an adult at all times. Children under the age of 12, who are not siblings, will not be allowed to visit in the Birthing Center to help with infection prevention. A viewing window is provided for families and friends to view the newborns at Greater Regional near the nursery.
In our efforts to protect your confidentiality, during labor and delivery, the nursing staff is not able to inform your friends or relatives of your labor progress or delivery. Phone calls and visitors will be referred to your support person. In addition, in order to provide optimal care for our new mothers and babies, visitation during the labor and delivery phase may be limited by the nursing staff and physicians.
