What is Internal Medicine?
Internal medicine is the medical specialty of dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of internal diseases.
Is Internal Medicine right for me?
According to American College of Physicians, an internal medicine physicians, or internists, are specialists who apply scientific knowledge and clinical expertise to the diagnosis, treatment, and compassionate care of adults across the spectrum from health to complex illness. They are especially well trained in the diagnosis of puzzling medical problems, in the ongoing care of chronic illnesses, and in caring for patients with more than one disease. Internists also specialize in health promotion and disease prevention.

I feel strongly that quality of life is very important and my goal is that my patients will enjoy a high quality life.
Matthew Checketts, DO
My philosophy can be summarized by two sentences on the teaching board in my office: 'Anything worth doing is worth overdoing' and 'The eye does not see what the brain does not know.' These two sentences encapsulate the dual focus I have, improving myself (professionally and personally) and improving the care I provide to my patients. I have a strong teaching component in my practice which benefits my patients, the practice, myself and hopefully the students which i have the privilege to teach.
I want to create relationships with my patients so I can help them better their health and make going to see the doctor something they look forward too!
Adrianna Shuey, DO,MBA
My goal is to be an ally for my patients and provide the best possible care while ensuring they feel empowered to make informed decisions and take part in their own health maintenance.
Everett Roberts, ARNP
