Emergency/Ambulance Service

Greater Regional Medical Center's ambulance service is available 24 hours a day for both emergency and routine transport. Greater Regional Medical Center's Emergency Department is certified as a Level IV Community Trauma Care Facility and has a physician available 24 hours a day for your immediate health care needs. Our Emergency Department has cardiac monitoring and trauma equipment, as well as direct access to helicopter transport. Individuals are encouraged to use the Emergency Room properly by determining into which health category their health problem falls:


These types of health problems will often get better with self-care including over-the-counter medications. See your doctor within several days.


These health problems should be seen the same day by a physician, but are not emergencies. Call your physician if the problem is not life threatening and time is not of the essence.


Emergencies are conditions that require immediate care. If necessary, call 911 for an ambulance. The Ambulance staff proudly serves the community by participating in local events and providing standby at football games.
