About The Greater Regional Healthcare Foundation
The Greater Regional Healthcare Foundation was established in 1993. The primary purpose of the Foundation is to assist Greater Regional Medical Center in making major technological advances and in the development of new programs and health care services for residents within the Greater Regional Medical Center service area. Gifts and contributions received by the Foundation provide needed capital improvements, educational materials, community wellness programs and may also assist with recruitment and retention of physicians.
Your financial support of the Foundation is very important to Greater Regional Medical Center's future. Gift support is the only flexible method for creating new funds for new technical equipment, programs, and/or endowment for specialized services without increasing charges or borrowing funds. The Foundation is a not-for-profit, tax-exempt corporation in accordance with the laws of the State of Iowa. Your gift is tax deductible under Code 501(c) 3 of the IRS Code.
Foundation Mission, Vision and Purpose:
To enhance and improve access to quality health care services and to improve the health and well being of southwest Iowa residents.
The Greater Regional Healthcare Foundation will foster community health and raise funds to support Greater Regional Medical Center current and future needs while developing permanent endowment growth.
To facilitate fundraising activities which support Greater Regional Medical Center and thanks donors. Board members will serve as ambassadors in the region to inform and educate the public on the needs of the medical center, opportunities for giving, and the many programs and services Greater Regional provides for the region.
Ways to Give
There are many ways to provide support to the mission of the Greater Regional Healthcare Foundation. Your support and volunteerism is always appreciated. Monetary gifts to the Foundation are another important method. Whether large or small, each gift is important. Every dollar contributed goes directly to support the program or project the donor has requested.
A gift or pledge of cash, insurance policies, real estate, stocks, bonds or other property.
Memorials are made to the Foundation as a thoughtful means to remember a loved one and become a part of helping others who are facing health concerns. Memorial gifts may be designated for where the need is greatest or for specific use by the medical center. All gifts, (unless requested to be anonymous) will be recognized and a note acknowledging your thoughtfulness will be sent to the family members if a name and address is provided.
Honor gifts are similar to memorials. An honor gift enables you to pay tribute to a person or group by making a donation in the person/group's name. Honor gifts are also recognized and a note acknowledging your thoughtfulness will be sent to the honoree.
Wills and Bequests
You may provide for gifts to the Foundation in your will. A bequest could be a specific amount of money, a particular property, or a percentage of an estate. A charitable gift may mean substantial tax savings for your estate. This option should be explored with your personal attorney and/or financial planner.
A deferred gift can enable you to make a generous gift and benefit financially at the same time. A deferred gift may create an opportunity for you to save on income, capital gains, and estate taxes. Consulting with your attorney and/or financial planner is advised. The Greater Regional Healthcare Foundation will provide a permanent source of funds to meet community health needs now and into the future. You can be assured that continual and perpetual benefits will continue to flow from your generosity. Your gift will be pooled with other gifts that will ensure maximum potential earning.
Recognition of contributions is included each year in this annual report. In addition, contributions are recognized on the Honor Board located in the link between Greater Regional Medical Center and the Medical Arts Plaza and at the Hospice Home. A commemorative brick pathway at the Hospice Home is another opportunity to honor or remember a loved one.

The Heritage Society
The Greater Regional Healthcare Foundation established the Heritage Society in 2007 to honor, celebrate and thank the generous people who believe so strongly in the Foundation's mission that they have included it in estate plans. Planned gifts represent the deepest commitments to Greater Regional Medical Center. The Heritage Society allows the Foundation to acknowledge benefactors as valued partners in its mission to improve access to quality healthcare in southwest Iowa while the benefactors are still living. The Society also allows the Foundation to demonstrate how private support may enhance Greater Regional Medical Center.
