Greater Regional's Hospice Home
In 2006, Greater Regional Healthcare Foundation embarked on a successful capital campaign to build Greater Regional Hospice Home. Individuals, businesses and individuals throughout southwest Iowa and from across the United States pledged to the campaign, securing commitments for $1.5 million to build the home in only a year's time. The Foundation broke ground for the hospice home in September 2007 and construction was completed in October 2008.
The home features private suites for patients and families, a complete family kitchen, meditation room, children's play areas and whirlpool therapy spa for patient care. These patient and family-centered spaces were specially designed for hospice patients and their families.
The Greater Regional Hospice Home is the only home of its kind in the region. Greater Regional Medical Center leases the Hospice Home to HCI Care Services for the delivery of hospice care and service in the home.
