Bladder and urinary tract issues can affect anyone, causing discomfort and disrupting daily life. When these problems arise, knowing when to see a urologist can make a significant difference in diagnosis and treatment. Greater Regional Urology offers specialized care for a range of urological conditions, including bladder problems, urinary tract infections, kidney stones, and prostate issues.
When to See a Urologist
Urologists specialize in the urinary tract and male reproductive system. You should consider scheduling an appointment if you experience any of the following:
Trouble with bladder control: Leakage or inability to hold urine can signal underlying issues.
Difficulty or pain while urinating: Burning sensations or discomfort may indicate infections or blockages.
Blood in your urine: This symptom requires prompt evaluation to rule out serious conditions.
Frequent urination: Needing to urinate often, especially at night, can affect your quality of life.
Erectile dysfunction: Difficulty achieving or maintaining an erection may have urological causes.
Decreased sex drive: Changes in libido can be linked to hormonal or physical factors.
Penile or testicular abnormalities: Lumps, swelling, or pain should be examined.
Pain in the lower stomach or groin: Persistent discomfort in these areas may relate to urinary or reproductive organs.
Recognizing these symptoms early allows for timely diagnosis and treatment, improving outcomes and comfort.
Meet the Team
Jonathan Fialkov, MD

Dr. Jonathan Fialkov was inspired to pursue a career in medicine by his father and uncle, both physicians who modeled a lifelong commitment to patient care. Surrounded by family members in the medical field, he felt drawn to follow in their footsteps and build a career centered on service. After completing his undergraduate studies at Allegheny College in 1992, he earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 1996. He went on to complete his internship and residency at the University of Iowa College of Medicine, finishing in 2002.
At Greater Regional, Dr. Fialkov is dedicated to expanding access to specialty care for patients in rural communities, particularly those who may face challenges traveling to major metropolitan medical centers. Outside of his work, he enjoys spending time with his children, especially during their family cooking nights. He also teaches martial arts and has a passion for both listening to and playing music.
Bailley Kralik, ARNP

Bailley, originally from Clarinda, Iowa, began her nursing career at Southwestern Community College in Creston, where she earned her Associate of Science in Nursing. She continued her education at Clarkson College, completing both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Master of Science in Nursing to become a Family Nurse Practitioner. Her strong educational foundation and commitment to patient care reflect her dedication to serving her community.
Outside of work, Bailley and her husband, Shawn, stay busy cheering on their two sons at sporting events. She enjoys baking, traveling, reading, shopping, and helping out on the family farm. These activities keep her grounded and connected to the rural lifestyle she values.
Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) Treatment at GRH
Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia, or BPH, is a common condition where the prostate gland enlarges, pressing on the urethra and causing urinary symptoms. It affects many men as they age and can lead to:
Difficulty starting urination
Weak urine stream
Frequent urination, especially at night
Feeling of incomplete bladder emptying
Hormonal changes contribute to BPH development, and while it is not cancerous, it can significantly impact daily life.
Greater Regional Urology offers effective treatments for BPH that focus on reducing symptoms and improving quality of life. Two notable options include Rezūm™ and Aquablation therapy.
Rezūm™ Water Vapor Therapy
Dr. Fialkov is one of only three providers in Iowa offering Rezūm™, a minimally invasive outpatient procedure. This treatment uses the natural energy stored in water vapor to shrink excess prostate tissue. Key benefits include:
No surgical incisions
No need for general anesthesia
Quick recovery, with most patients resuming normal activities within days
Rezūm™ offers a safe alternative for men seeking relief without the risks and downtime of traditional surgery.
Aquablation Therapy
Aquablation therapy combines imaging, robotics, and a heat-free waterjet to remove enlarged prostate tissue precisely. This innovative approach provides:
Minimally invasive treatment
Reduced risk of sexual side effects compared to traditional surgery
Effective and lasting symptom relief
Aquablation is suitable for men looking for a modern option that balances effectiveness with fewer complications.
