GRH is Among Top Hospitals in Iowa for Physician and Nurse Communication

The national publication, Becker's Hospital Review, announced 347 Top Hospitals for physician communication across the county in early July. Among the 347 top hospitals, 21 were Iowa Hospitals. Greater Regional Health is proud to be among a coveted list of top performing hospitals in the field of physician communication.

The Becker's Hospital Review website explains, "Becker's has compiled a list of the best hospitals for physician communication in each state using Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) data from Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The physician communication star rating combines data from three HCAHPS survey questions and summarizes how well patients feel that their physician explained things clearly, listened carefully to them, and treated them with courtesy and respect." Greater Regional Health received a 5-star rating from the data collected from July 2021 through June 2022.

Becker’s Hospital Review also shared 364 top hospitals for nurse communication across the country. Greater Regional Health is honored to be among the 16 Iowa hospitals to receive this recognition. According to the Becker’s Hospital Review website, “The nurse communication star rating combines data from three HCAHPS survey questions and summarizes how well patients feel that their nurses explained things clearly, listened carefully to the patient, and treated the patient with courtesy and respect.” Greater Regional Health received a 5-star rating from data collected from July 2021 through June 2022.
