Public Health is a specialized kind of health care that focuses on protecting and improving the quality of life of communities as a whole. Commonly, Public Health departments emphasize disease prevention through measures like epidemiology (identifying patterns of disease spread) and vaccination programs. But they also promote overall wellness through educational initiatives, accessible healthcare, and community health assessments.
Union County Public Health is committed to not only meeting these goals but also embodying the three words found beneath their logo: Prevent. Promote. Protect. That’s why the Public Health team continually explores new and effective ways to support wellness. To help ensure community health, we are highlighting just SOME of the excellent services and initiatives the department offers to everyone in Union County.

It empowers participants with greater confidence and independence. Matter of Balance begins this November, with more details to come.
